I just stumbled upon this forearm rest on the net but had not heard of it actually. anyone using it at present and does it have any effect. heres a pic of the forearm rest.

Thats quiet interesting.I have never used one or even seen one before this. Looks like it would be most helpful to me.I like the arm support myself .I move my mouse pad way up and use the desk for arm suport.

Well now THAT looks interesting. I notice that it's forcing the person to sit further away from the desk than I generally sit, though. That is probably why I have trouble, the angle at which I hold my hands and wrists.

RSI sometimes occurs as a combination of the motion that is done repeatedly and things like bad posture or other awkward positions that contribute to "odd" stress on muscles/soft tissue.

Anything that corrects posture or other changes the usual position has to help at least some.

That, to me, looks like more of a problem than a cure. Just look at how stretched the user looks. One of the major causes of RSI is working in un-natural positions, and to me, that looks un-natural. Just user the image in the top right of their webpage to compare how your arms should be to how they look in that photo.

Well now this is good to hear. That picture looked as if I'd be sitting halfway across the room. :-) When I looked at it the second time, it really wasn't a different angle than I usually use, just a place to rest arms between the elbow and wrist.

Yes, reducing the strain to reach for the mouse seems vital if one isn't going to strain those tendons.

thats what i said in my second post that wont that posture make working bit difficult on computers. i prefer keeping my forearms on the arm rest of my chair and then do the typing work. and i think thats what the docs tell you to do to ease the pressure off.
