Anyone with RSI gone to a specialist privately?

Has anyone been to a specialist priavetly for the treatment of RSI .I have seen people waiting for long durations for private appointments but still not getting any fruitful results. how was your experience in this regard.

I haven't seen anyone for it per se, but with talking to a doctor every day because he's my best friend, I just ask when a question comes up. I have a feeling that treatment that will work on one person won't work on the next so I'm not really convinced that a specialist would know better what to do than we're already doing with the treatments we've discussed here. (No, that's not a recommendation to stay away from a specialist.) :-)

I disagree Katharina, i would think even though specialist treatment will be different for every person. A specialist would imo, have an expertise in that field, and be better suited to treat you.

I'd have to agree with bluesaga here. A specialist will have experienced many different forms of RSI. They will certainly know more about the subject than a doctor, who, in all honesty, is a jack of all trades and a master of none (so to speak).

I have been visiting a physiopherapist for 8+ weeks for treatment of frozen shoulders, fortunately for me my treatment is free on the NHS, if I had to pay for this treatment it would cost me £29.00 per week for 1/2 hour session.
In my case the treatment is working well, although I still have a lot of problems, but I think were payment required it would have been money well spent.
